In the center of the icon a likeness of Christ is placed. He is still in a tomb but he's already alive. His posture is inscribed in the shape if the cross. Holy Mary is crying over her son, she is embracing him. Nevertheless she's doing that in a moderate way. She is concentrated on adoration of real God.
The icon belongs to Holy Week serie. Half-closed eyes of Christ imply that the dead body is a grain which is to fructify with the eternal life. Mary accompanies her son till the end.
